Marly-le-Roi Palace, St Petersburg, Russia

The Golden Hill Cascade lies within the gardens of the French royal residence Marly-le-Roi. During the Soviet years the palace and gardens were neglected but in 2010 the Russian state undertook the task of restoring the cascade in accordance with the original design.

Gotland Grey-Beige Limestone was chosen for the new balustrade due to its high frost resistance and similar colour tone of the limestone that was used in the original design.
